Hayden says, "Um, Dad... There's something in my crib..."
Dad says, "hehe... it's the dreaded blue tentacled octopus! It's bilingual, RUN!"

Hayden is one month old today! Looks like all this growing is wearing him out :) He rolled from his Tummy onto his back, can interweave his fingers (sometimes :) and gave Zach a big big smile! One that I think wasn't even related to gas, because his eyes were open, and it was one of those big, mouth-open, wide-eyes smiles, unaccompanied by one of those sheepish, yes-I-fluffed smirks he is known for. Above is a photo I took this morning in the living room on one of his favorite blankets.
HE'S CUTE!

Hayden's favorite dine-in or carry-out restaurant.

It's dangerous to have a graphic artist for a mom...

New Video Post

The Brock family is doing well, Hayden is continuing to grow so much and we are loving every minute! Here are some recent videos, the first of which we are very proud; his first roll over during tummy time.

Hayden has started to replace "squishy face" with "kissy face." I guess I mean that the faces he makes during the day look more and more baby and less and less newborn. He's not yet three weeks old and already growing up so fast! Hayden's awake time, although still far to short to keep me satisfied, is becomming longer and longer each day. He sleeps somewhere between two and four hours at a time, and always wakes up hungry :) I love sneaking off in the middle of the night to his room for his midnight awake time - it's all mine!!

A brand new baby is nothing like I ever expected. I understand now that there is no way to explain how it feels to be a new mom anyone who hasn't already experienced it - and it is more fulfilling, gut-wrenching, exciting, heart-breaking and amazing than I could have predicted. It's wonderful.

I never thought I would use the phrase, "Oh that? It's just poop" or brag about having gotten a solid four hours of sleep in a row, and be totally thankful. And the new parent guilt? the voice that says "oh my gosh! dry skin! What have I done to this poor child?" and "what do you mean you won't get me a 0-3 month size onesie for my birthday?"

Anyway, we love it :) Hayden is greatest gift and we are eagerly awaiting each new adventure!

Hayden is almost 3 weeks!

Hayden is a busy eater! I tried to get him away from dinner but I couldn't.

Rachel and Hayden are doing great! Hayden went to the mall in his new stroller today and he cruised like a pro. Though a momma's boy he attracts all the ladies... which is okay until he realizes what he's doing lol.
I've added more pictures to the Picasa Hayden album if you want to see some cute Hayden faces.

Hayden says "Hello!"

We're settling in and Hayden has been so fun! Just look at those eyes... the little man has a great personality already. Hayden had his first bath (pics are in the Picasa), first outing at Grandma and Grandpa's for uncle Rob's birthday, and he's been sleeping in his own bed more and more often.

Wednesday = Party!

YAY!

Zach and I celebrated Hayden's upcoming debut along with his team and co-workers at a baby shower on the 28th. Thank you to everyone involved in planning and hosting and celebrating! We had a wonderful time, and we are blessed to have people in our lives that support us and welcome our little man in such a warm way.

We also partied hearty at my office on my last day before maternity leave (Yep, Wednesday) with a shower celebrated by all the P-tek staff! YAY for Diaper cake! I heard rumors of David frantically rolling diapers one evening (haha!) to create this awe-inspiring diaper-tower masterpiece, complete with teethers, silverware, stroller toys and animals, among a bundle of other baby-necessities we have recently discovered. How fun!

It's Friday, January 30th, and Hayden's birthday is planned for February second. He'll be born by Cesarian Section because of is strong will to keep his noggin lodged against my ribcage. I don't blame him. I wouldn't like to be upside down, either!
