2013 was exciting, for the sake of this blog… the last 2 years were great ;). Among the excitement is we’re expecting a 3rd brock in July 2014, woot!

Ryan started pre-school this last year, he jumped right in and has worked past quite a bit of his initial shyness. Hayden has also continued pre-school with the goal of Kindergarten fall 2014. Both boys have become so close over the last year, they are truly best friends.

Both boys played soccer this year, Hayden’s returning and Ryan had his first season. Ryan was motivated to play by how much fun Hayden was having…
Many adventures this year, Rachel is always taking the boys out to try something exciting, like meeting the firemen, going to parks, and going on hikes.
Great vacation to Orcha’s island with my family, great trip! A lot of hiking, some kayaking, sea scavenging, and great company! Thank you mom and dad for sponsoring such a wonderful endeavor! If all goes well we will have our 2014 family vacation at Yellowstone Park, looking forward to that!

Rachel and grown her photography business and skills exponentially, the family photo below is proof J

Hayden continues to be an excellent example to his brother and we are continually impressed by his intellect and curiosity for how things work.

Ryan is a joker and a little lover, he is shy meeting new people, but once he comes out of his shell he's very talkative and playful! The LAM school where he's at now is helping him to realize how fun other kids are to play with :)

We had Cubby and Benny Ancel come visit late in the summer as well as the entire Ancel clan mid-summer, great to have them on the east side of the state for a change J

A scatter post by Zach

This post has no real bearing, just some of my favorite pictures on my phone... hope you enjoy.

Some amazing sand art in Puerta Vallarta, that's my beautiful wife's head :)

Hayden was on a leash before we left for Mexico, and there was very good reason for that!

Uncle Seth and Hayden at L.A.X.

One of Hayden's favorite toys is one of Grandpas as well... The John Deere! :) Ever since the first ride, every time Hayden goes over to Grandma and Grandpa "Deere" the visit cannot be properly started without a ride from the green machine of joy!

Messy Toddler Projects! YAY!!

Lately, Hayden and I have been exploring some new and fun ways to play! We try and do at least one fun (translation: dangerously messy) thing every day. Here are a few of our latests and greatest ideas. Most of these actually worked out pretty well. Some ended up with a fully clothed toddler in the tub asap.

Pudding Paint, Fruitloop Shakers, cupcakes, Oats and Beans and Macaroni Noodles and Rice and FLOUR oh my! (thats all one), painting wooden masks (that one's a lobster!) and one of our coolest yet, Bathtub finger pain! Which is cornstarch, baby shampoo and food coloring. Comes off everything, even hair that it's been sitting in all bath long.

The last two pictures are of one of Hayden's favorite new summer toys: A sand and water table! He absolutely loved it, and I totally recommend it for anyone with a toddler. Not even that tough to clean up, although ours is now a water and muddy mess table. Still super fun. The last picture I took this morning, when it rained and was two cold to play sand. *pout*

Mexico!

First things first: Our trip to Mexico - complete with pictures!! Hooray!

We went to Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo San Lucas. Hayden was just learning to walk when we left Spokane, but with all the practice he was able to get on a moving ship, the moment we got home he was a pro. Now he's walking (running) all over the place, and he's into everything. I think I should get a raise. :)

Zach was attacked by a pirate (photo below) whom we all thought was just a statue. Isaac, Kylee and Liam held baby lions in Cabo San Lucas, and they were absolutely adorable! Photos to come.

The taxis in Mexico are a different story; not fun, cuddly or adorable. In fact, in all of the cities we visited, traffic laws seemed like suggestions than regulations. We found ourselves saying "stopsign? what stopsign?" more often than we would like. We were very fortunate, however, to have found one taxi with actual, working seat belts. They all had AC.

And the ship? Absolutely incredible! It was all done in art deco, with gold and shiny pearlized paint everywhere. I think I counted 18 elevators on the entire ship, and three of them, in the center, were glass. One of Hayden's favorite parts of the vacation was riding the glass elevators up and down. Another was the light switch in the cabin, of course, which he turned on and off with different limbs at different times. Sometimes his toes, sometimes his hands or his nose, or his knees.

The plane ride was a little rough, but the trip was absolutely amazing. We got to spend a lot of quality (fun!) time with Zach's family, particularly at dinner, where the waiters were prone to dancing on the tables. Hilarious.:)

I can't forget to mention, of course, one dinner in particular; when I sat down in my usual seat, lying suspiciously and intriguingly on my plate was a white box. Since I've been pregnant, my poor fingers have gotten so puffy during the day, that I haven't been able to wear my wedding ring on my finger, so I've had it on a chain around my neck (or I would just wear the an $8 walmart-special ring that ended up turning my finger black). In this box was a beautiful saphire and diamond ring that fit my poor puffy fingers perfectly :) My husbie is amazing! And I am super spoiled.

Baby Brock the second on his/her way...

If you haven't heard (I think we posted to Facebook a while back and forgot the block), we're expecting Brock baby number two in late September!!! Very exciting, Hayden loves saying "baby!" Hayden has also taken his first four consectutive steps, but still likes leveraging furniture to walk on most occasion.

8:27 AM: He grabs poop out of his diaper and squishes it between his fingers, laughing and getting it all over himself.

8:28 AM: I pick him up and put him, t-shirt and socks and all, into the empty tub, and go from there. Poop. Everywhere.

Shouts and screams can be heard from outside.

"No! Hayden'! Don't do it! don't grab that! Put that down! Gross! Aghk! it's under my finger nails!"

*Gagging sounds*

This is not the beginning of a script for a new horror movie. This is a re-enactment of what we did this morning.

* * *

This weekend, we put the tree up! And before Operation: Depoop the Boy, Hayden helped inspect the red and silver bells to put up on the Christmas tree, along with some of the ornaments. We also introduced him to the big metal snowman that sings Christmas songs. Hayden grabbed his nose. :)

Sometime this week, we're going on a field trip to the fabric store to make another Christmas stocking. We are so excited for Hayden's first Christmas! Lots of new wrapping paper, and toys to wrap. Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait!
